Oliva, Dorothy, 94 of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away peacefully on January 21, 2020. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 4, 1925 to the late Anthony and Rose (Lembo) Marsicano and called Florida home for 16 years.

She went to be with her husband and love of her life, James Oliva (aka Jimmy O). They were married just short of 60 years when he passed away in 2009.

Dorothy was an active member of the VFW Post/ Ladies Auxiliary in Brooklyn, NY for many years. One of her greatest joys was when her grandson Stephen was born. She called him “Lover Boy”, her face would light up every time he walked into the room.

Family and friends were so important to Dorothy. She would open her heart and home through love and food. Always welcoming friends and family with open arms and was adored by all.  She has touched many lives with her smile, love and kindness.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother James Marsicano. She is survived by her son; Robert Oliva and daughter; Linda Lombardi and son-in-law Chris Lombardi and grandson; Stephen Lombardi. Two Brothers; Ralph Marsicano, Anthony Marsicano and wife Estelle and sister- in- law Marie Marsicano.

Loving aunt and Godmother to Jeanine Barone. Three nephews; James Marsicano, Anthony and Christopher Marsicano and a great nephew Alex James. As well as many other family members and friends.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Sunday, January 26th from 4:00PM-8:00PM with a Tributes of a Lifetime service beginning at 7:00pm at the Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care Hollywood Chapel, 6400 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood. A mass will be held at St. Maximilian Catholic Church on Monday, January 27th at 11:00AM. Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her late husband James at South Florida National Cemetery on Friday January 31, 2020 at 10:30AM.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation to the  Alzheimer’s Foundation would be greatly appreciated. www.alz.org

Mom,
What a beautiful album of photos to show a wonderful life of a woman whose love and compassion showed us all how to live. Always smiling, always welcoming and always hard working, she became everyone's mom. Rest in peace!
