Monica Campbell was born in the district of Madras St Ann, Jamaica on February 14, 1932.

She was the youngest of five children born to Rueben and Esther Campbell.  She received her education at the Madras All Age. In her early adult life, she moved from St. Ann to Kingston, where she settled.  She was a loving mother of 8 children, two of whom was predeceased. Monica was blessed with longevity as she outlived her parents and siblings.  Monica was baptized and active in the Portmore New Testament Church of God.

In 1991, Monica migrated to the United States where she worked as a Home Health Aide.  She continued working until her health declined. She also continued to participate in the church until she was unable to attend.

In the end of 2019, Monica’s health drastically deteriorated in which resulted in her death on January 20,2020.  She is survived by her children Hector, Edna, Claudette, Moreen, Llyod and Sandra.  She also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Today as we meet to celebrate the life of Monica Campbell, we remember her strength of character, strong will and her ability to be unruffled by whatever was going on around her.

As we say our goodbyes, we want to say a special prayer for her family.  We pray that the sadness of death will give the necessary strength to survive the present and unify the future.The Lord has given and He has taken away and to His name be all the Glory and Praise.

Monica Campbell  was affectionately known as Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunty Sis, and Friend.  May your soul find peace in the Lord. May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your side. May God’s sunshine warm your face and the rains fall soft upon your fields until we meet again on Resurrection Morning.  Farwell!
